Why use connectors?

Imagine what would happen if there were no connectors? At this point, the circuits need to be permanently connected together using continuous conductors. For example, if an electronic device is to be connected to a power source, both ends of the connecting wire must be securely connected to the electronic device and power source through some method (such as welding). In this way, both production and use have brought many inconveniences.

Taking LED landscape lights as an example. The distance from the power supply to the lamp holder is generally relatively large. If each wire from the power supply to the lamp holder is connected from end to end, it will bring unnecessary trouble to construction and cause wire waste. Some people may question whether it's okay to cut a gap directly from the live wire, connect the conductive parts of the wire together, and then wrap a few layers of insulation tape around them? It is not necessary to use connectors. Firstly, most insulation tapes are prone to aging and pose safety hazards; Secondly, the mechanical performance of joints directly connected by wires is very poor. Slight vibration and stretching of the circuit can easily cause open circuits, and poor interface contact can easily cause heating, leading to a fire; Moreover, the outdoor environment is harsh, and the requirements for waterproofing, salt resistance, and aging resistance are relatively high. The insulation adhesive is far from meeting the requirements. But if high-performance waterproof connectors are used in outdoor lighting, not only does it simplify the installation of the power grid, but all of these safety hazards will be reduced to a very low level.

This example briefly illustrates the benefits of connectors. It makes the design and production process more convenient, flexible, and safe, while also reducing production and maintenance costs. The appearance of connectors improves the production process. Connectors simplify the assembly process of electronic products and also simplify the batch production process. It is easy to repair. If a certain electronic component fails, the faulty component can be quickly replaced when a connector is installed, making it easy to upgrade. With technological progress, when a connector is installed, the component can be updated and replaced with new ones The use of connectors allows engineers to have greater flexibility when designing and integrating new products, as well as when composing systems with meta components, by replacing old ones with more comprehensive ones.

Especially for industrial connectors, flexibility and safety are even more important when used in harsh environments that require plugging and unplugging. At this point, a simple plug-in connector with a buckle would be a wise choice.
